Most of you have probably heard of the shooting at Ford Hood, Texas yesterday, in which 13 people were shot and killed. I just read about a group called Soldier's Angels on Rhoda's blog at
http://asouthernlife.com/2009/11/southern-hospitality/.They help military families in times of need. Please visit Rhoda to read about it, and join them in helping the victims of this horrendous act of violence. Please keep our military in your prayers. They put their lives on the line every day for our country, and we are finding that the enemy isn't always in another country.
And please visit my good friend, Lynn, at
http://lynnslovelies.blogspot.com/2009/11/america-is-calling.html.
She has posted a wonderful video that I hope everyone will see and think about...America needs us. This is our country...we are the people of America...we need to speak out now, to protect the freedom that we enjoy.
Thank you to our wonderful hostess, Amy, for creating Then Sings My Soul Saturday...click on the musical note to the right to visit her and others for inspiration and comfort.
When I read the words to this hymn, and see the images being displayed as its being sung, I thank God for His grace and mercy.
To God Be The Glory
How can I say thanks
for the things you have done for me
Things so undeserved
Yet you give to prove your love for me
The voices of a million angels
Cannot express my gratitude
All that I am or ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee
(Chorus)
To God be the glory
To God be the glory
To God be the glory
For the things He has done
With His blood, He has saved me
By His power, He has raised me.
To God be the glory
For the things he has done
(Bridge)
Just let me live my life
And let it be pleasing, Lord to Thee
And should I gain any praise,
Let it go to Calvary.
With His blood, He has saved me
By His power, He has raised me.
To God be the glory
For the things he has done.
I hope that all of you have a wonderful week-end...that you can spend it with your family and good friends, enjoying freedom and good health...and pray for those that do not have the privileges that we have.
God bless you all!
Mary

I love this song! It sounds like Sissel singing this one with the Oslo Choir. She's a famous Norwegian singer from Bergen. Gorgeous video to accompany this beautiful song and words. Thank you for posting this one.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Debbie

This is a wonderful post. My heart and prayers go out to those families. I cried when I heard what happen. We have alot of family and friends in the Army, but none stationed there. Thanks for posting the links too.

Thanks, Mary, for this lovely post. I felt like my blogging was so trivial...and it is...in light of this current tragedy. But we carry on somehow. God bless those family affected. You have a blessed weekend too.

Oh Mary I don't know what it is but everytime I hear this hymn my eye's fill and my heart just swells. I LOVE it. "Things so underserved, yet you give to show your love for me.." I just love it. I'm so glad you put this one up. Have a wonderful week-end. Love, Debbie
ReplyDeleteI have always loved this song...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links...our country and its people..."if My people, which are called by My name"...we had special prayer last night at church for our leaders...
Another beautiful post, Mary.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all your sentiments. God Is so Good and He has Blessed us so abundantly.
And in these troubled times I console myself with that fact that God is in control and not man, and that God will confound those who believe themselves to be the rulers in this world.
United in prayers we cannot fail.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen
That is just beautiful, thank you.
ReplyDeleteMary.....Beautiful post and to the point!~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteDear Mary..
ReplyDeleteOh I hope this makes sense~~As I type this tears are just streaming down my face.
What a powerfully beautiful song/video this is. May God bring comfort to all of the victims, families and friends of the senseless and horrific tragedies both at Ft Hood and in Orlando.
May God also speak to the hearts of those who lead this great country, give them wisdom and conscience....
Thank you sweet Mary for your enormous strength, support and friendship.
Hugs and Love,
Lynn♥

Blessings Mary...What a gorgeous video for this beautiful song! Singing along and so enJOYing this selection. Yes, indeed TO GOD BE THE GLORY! May He send His Comforter and legions of angels to protect our soldiers both at home & abroad!
ReplyDeleteSo thankful for the Blood of Our Savior but also for the many soldiers who senselessly loose their life that we might enJOY freedom to worship Our LORD! To God be the glory! Great things He has done! May we give Him thanks & praise for who He is and may His light shine over these mourning families!
amen for this song.. How our spirit sings glory to the Lord for the wonderful things He has done to us.. His blood has brought us from the world to His kingdom..
