Happy Tea Things Tuesday, inspired and created by our beautiful Kim at www.shabbypinkandpretty.blogspot.com ! You just click on the darling tea cabinet to the right to visit Kim and so many more tea lovers!
I’m so glad you have to come to visit me at my tea cottage. The tea kettle is full, and I’ve already poured a cup just for you, plus added two flavors of freshly baked scones. I hope you like my homemade strawberry jam, made by a friend’s loving hands. Now, just sit down and sip as we talk about the important things in life…children, grandchildren, home, God, the little things in life that make us complete and whole.
Let me tell you about the teapot and teacup we’ll be using today. The teapot is a favorite of mine, and one of my first, purchased at T.J. Maxx several years ago. Its a Sadler teapot, made in England, and just the right size for about 4 to 5 cups of tea.
The teacups are made by Hammersley, also in England, and the pattern is Morgan’s Rose. The first time I saw one of these teacups, I fell in love with it…I think you will too!
Although the teapot and teacups aren’t a perfect match, they match perfectly, don’t you think?
My beautiful pink plates are vintage hobnail, another favorite of mine. I have 18 of them, and use them often. I’m not sure of the manufacturer…if you have an idea, please let me know.
These roses were given to me by my wonderful husband last Friday…we celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary. I’ll be sharing photos on Saturday, if you’d like to come back!
Isn’t the color outstanding?
This is a vintage sugar bowl…I also have the creamer and the underplate….I’ll show it another time.
I do hope you enjoyed tea today…I love having company for tea…I could do it every day of the week…well, maybe at least 3 times a week…I do need a couple of days to bake and clean!
I hate to see you leave so soon, but I really do want you to hurry on over to Kim’s…you don’t want to miss her beautiful tea things, and then you can click away and visit all the participants…I know they will have delightful tea goodies to feast your eyes on!
God bless you all…remember to pray for our wonderful military, their families, especially those at Fort Hood…pray for our blogging friends that are in need. We have the Christmas season coming upon us quickly, which is always a time of good will among men and women…let’s not wait til next month…every day is the day to give, share, pray, and spread joy everywhere you go.
Mary

Hello, Mary,
ReplyDeleteYour teapot, cup and saucer, pink hobnail plates, everything is just beautiful!! I loved them all! The scones look yummy. I enjoyed my tea with you so much and a very happy anniversary to you and your hubby! He did a good job with those roses, didn't he? Thank you for continuing to remember us here at Fort Hood. Thank you also for stopping by for a cup of tea at Bunny Cottage. I always enjoy your visits with me so much! Blessings to you, dear friend! Vicki
Hi Mary.. First let me wish you a very happy and belated annivesary. And second, I just have to say that your teapot and teacups are gorgeous. Such pretty roses on both. I love how you chose to mix the china pieces with your vintage pink hobnail plates. What a charming combination that makes. Those scones look awful yummy too!! I made a batch of Krusteaz scones on Sunday to have with my tea, but funnily enough I put them in the oven and then ran downstairs to my computer to start getting my post ready for today and needless to say I lost track of time and burnt my scones. Not so bad though that they weren't still edible. I just had to cut the burnt bottoms off before I ate them. It's funny how when a person is blogging, they can loose all track of time like that.
ReplyDeleteMary.....Happy Anniversary! Your roses are so pretty from your hubby! Your teapot and service looks so nice and I would love to be there sometime and have tea with you!~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteEverything is just so pretty, love the vivid colors on the teapot, cups, and saucers. The plates add a dimension that really works. Very nice. Happy Tea Things Tuesday!

Everything is beautiful as always. I think what I love about Tea Things Tuesdays, is it is an escape from the less pretty parts of life and an escape into genteel and ladylike if only for a while. My life is a happy one, but not always pretty, lol.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Mary! I would just love to sit and have tea with you! What a pretty table and your china is gorgeous! Your Veteran's Day post was wonderful too. Thanks for sharing and have a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary darling Mary.
ReplyDeleteDarling I will love to sit down and take tea with you, everything looks lovely and delicious. I fancy the teacups, they are gorgeous. I so missed our Tuesday's tea post... God willing I will post this coming Tuesday. My life has been anything but normal of late, but it looks like the topsy turvy is slowly returning to normal and I will be able to start blogging regularly. I missed the creativity and the bonding with good friend such as yourself that blogging offers. I truly missed you and I look forward to your visits!!
Love & Hugs
