WELCOME SPRING!

~Pink Saturday Sweetness~

I can’t believe another week has flown by, and we are so close to the end of the summer of 2009!  I’m so glad, though, that even with the beautiful colors of autumn filling our blogs with decorating crafts and ideas, we can always celebrate PINK!  Thanks to our lovely and gracious hostess, Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com  for bringing us together in celebration of pink, a color that is year round, and always in style.

I’d like you to meet this sweet little Corolle doll.  I was in a toy store in Sacramento about 20 years ago, looking for a gift for a friend’s daughter.  When I saw this doll, I had to have her because she reminded me of my own daughter when she was little.  None of my granddaughters play with dolls…they love stuffed animals, like Build-A-Bear, and Webkinz.  They buy clothes for them, doll carriages, baby bottles and such, and play with them the way I played with my dolls when I was little.  So this doll has been MY doll.  Even though no one really plays with her, somehow she has lost one of the flowers in her bonnet, and her shoes and socks!  I think they were “borrowed” for those furry babies!

I never did give her a name…any suggestions?  I like Abby, and Dixie, and Belle.  Somehow I know she’s a southern girl!

Oh, to have this thick head of hair again!  I love the hat, with it’s pink flowers in the front and the pink polka dot bow in the back.

Here is another of the mini tea sets in my collection.

If only life could be like pink…It’s soft, romantic, feminine, calming, and  well, just beautiful!  To think that some people don’t like pink is unthinkable! That’s okay, we all have our favorites colors, but if yours is pink, be sure to click on that pretty pink lady to visit Beverly and other participants that have some lovely pinks to show today!

Have a wonderful week-end, everyone…be safe, have fun, and be sure to keep “living in the pink”!

  6. Hi Mary,
I love your doll and what a pretty girl she is. I have always loved dolls myself and never got to buy any because I had three boys and now, four grandsons! Maybe someday I'll be able to buy a dollie! She looks like a Belle to me with her pretty hair and outfit! Love your little teaset too. Happy Pink Saturday and enjoy your weekend.

    Blessings,

  7. Mary, everything in your post today is beautiful. I don't think girls of any age grow out of their love of dolls. Why would we? I too think she is a southern bell. How about the names, Cora Bell, Annamae Or Jessie Lyn. I am sure you will find the perfect name for her. I love the tea set, you captured the colors perfectly. I have always liked hanging geraniums but have never had any luck with them. Yours are so nice, Happy Pink Saturday and thanks for the wonderful post, Char

  9. Hi Mary. Oh it's so good to be back and to start catching up on visiting blogs. I've missed so much being away for week. Your pinks today are lovely. What a beautiful doll and that miniature tea set is gorgeous. The rose pattern is the same or very similar to one of my tea sets.

Teacup Tuesday (to be renamed Tea Things Tuesday) will resume this coming week so I'm anxious for that and to see what everyone will be sharing.

Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend Mary.

    See you on Tuesday!!

  21. Happy Pink Saturday Mary!
As her tag said Corolle, Carolina would be a beautiful name, but she looks like she has a Magnolia bloom on her hat, so Magnolia is also a beautiful name. She has the most beautiful eyes for a doll. I have always wanted long, dark, curly hair, instead I was blessed with long, blonde, straight hair. (We always want what we don't have). She is a beautiful doll and thanks so much for sharing her. I can't wait for the post when you let us know who she is to become. Name her for us. Stop by and visit my PS post. I so love it when you do. Country hugs and love, Sherry

  27. The doll is precious. I loved playing with baby dolls when I was a little girl. I can't imagine substituting a bear or any other animal. Times have changed a lot. Of course I am pretty old.
I enjoyed the rest of your pink post too.

  29. HI Mary,
Your doll is sweet, I know a very dear 94 year old southern lady named Clara Belle, that name might work for your dolly!
I love your tiny little tea set, I've always liked those and remember wishing I had a real china one when I was young. My tea set was plastic - it's not the same!! Guess that's why I collect so many dishes and glasses now.....
    Have a fun weekend

  31. She is adorable! Maybe when your grand daughters grows, one of them will develop a liking for the dolls cause it'll be so nice to have someone to pass her and cherish her too.

    Happy Pink Week!
