Happy Tuesday, everyone! Please join Kim and her tea loving participants at www.shabbypinkandpretty.blogspot.com. Just click on the picture of the teacup to the right and you’ll be there in a jif.
I have around 100 teacups, and love them all, but they don’t hold enough to wake me up, and the tea cools quickly, so I found these darling floral tea mugs that are perfect for my morning tea. Purchased at Home Goods last year, they were $7.99 each, except for the center one…I think it was $9.99. Quite a lot for a mug, but I couldn’t resist.
The pretty white and soft yellow are my favorites.
DRINKIN' FROM MY SAUCER
I've never made a fortune
And it's prob'ly too late now;
But I don't worry 'bout that much,
I'm happy anyhow!
And as I go along life's way
Reapin' better than I sowed.
I'm drinkin' from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed!
Haven't got a lot of riches,
And sometimes the going's tough;
But I've got loving ones around me,
And that makes me rich enough!
I thank God for His blessings
And the mercies He's bestowed.
I'm drinkin' from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed!
I 'member times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin;
But all at once the dark clouds broke
And light peeped through again.
So, Lord, help me not to gripe
About tough rows I've hoed.
I'm drinkin' from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed!
If God gives me strength and courage
When the way grows steep and rough,
I'll not ask for other blessings;
I'm already blessed enough!
May I never be too busy
To help others bear their loads.
I'll keep drinkin' from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed!

That is the way I feel about my life. When I find myself complaining about the responsibilities I have, I remember that my cup is overflowing, and my saucer is too.
God bless you, everyone. Remember our blogging friends that are in need of healing, employment, encouragement, peace and comfort as they face the loss of loved ones, financial hardship and many other life challenges.
Please pray for our troops and the troops from other countries that are still fighting…will it ever end…and their families who miss them.
God bless America, land that I love.
Mary
Your tea cups are very pretty. I also collect them, and I love all of mine too. I have gotten a lot of mine from flea markets and Ebay. I wish I could find some for $9.99. At most flea markets I have to pay $12.99 and up. Same thing on Ebay. Any, yours are beautiful.

Beautiful sentiments, Mary! I love the poem, and I love your generous thoughts. And I thank you for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your tea mugs! And I so agree about the beautiful little tea cups, so pretty, so delicate, but definitely not big enough! I drink tons of coffee from nice big mugs each day but have yet to find anything as pretty as you've found.
Now I'm on a quest!
Great post, Mary!
All the best,
Eileen
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tea mugs. Love the colors. The poem is wonderful. I don't believe I have ever heard it before. Thank you for sharing this morning, loved your post!
Valerie
What beautiful mugs. They remind me of the pretty Cath Kidston florals. I usually use a mug during the day, it saves a lot of trips to the teapot.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great poem and thank you for your comments about remembering to pray for the needs of our friends, family, country, etc.
Mary, this is one of my most favorite songs by Jimmy Dean. I have it printed and it hangs next to my collection of teacups. I, too, have more than a hundred teacups and I love to drink coffee from one that is Queen Anne, all black on the outside, gold on the inside with pink roses. I love seeing the roses when I drink my tea or coffee. Your tea mugs are beautiful with all the pretty roses.
ReplyDeleteOh I just love all of your pretty mugs. They are gorgeous. Your poem is just perfect. What a wonderful reminder to count all of our blessing. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures! Loved the poem too.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way you do. Want to remember my cup is overflowing.
And how sweet of you to remind us about those in need and to pray. That's giving back, thank you.
I love your teacups. How very pretty.

ReplyDeleteHi Mary.. What lovely mugs you've showed us today. So pretty with all the roses. Your pictures are just amazing. How do you manage to get such stunningly clear photos? I'd love to know what kind of camera you have. No matter how hard I try, I can never seem to get my pictures to come out as well as those I see on other blogs.

ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, most, though not all, of us in this country are enormously blessed. Sometimes we just need a reminder....
Your tea-mugs are so pretty. Wish I had a nice, matched set. I have odds and ends, they are nice, but not as lovely as yours! I agree, I need a big mug of tea in the morning after my workout. The exercise starts me up, the tea keeps me going!
Thanks for visiting me today, it was very slow at my place for some reason, I appreciate that you took some time to come see me.
See you again soon!
XO
