I want to thank you, all of my dear blogging friends, for your wonderful comments while I've been away these few days. When I said that I would be absent to get some rest and tend to my daughter while working on my blog and trying to get a little cleaning done, I didn't expect to get even one comment, but so many of you left sweet comments, wishing us well, and saying that you would miss me! That was so encouraging and just boosted my spirits so much...THANK YOU! My daughter is doing much better, and has returned to school, with just a little cough at night.
I made a big boo-goo when changing my blog look...I deleted all of my widgets! I was having trouble getting the 3 column background on, so started a test blog..well, to make a long story short...now I have to redo my entire favorites list...so if you don't see your blog name on my sidebar, it isn't because I took it off...its just that I haven't finished putting them all back on yet! At any rate, I finally found something that I like, and managed to get a header photo that is complimentary...this little trio of carolers was one of my first Christmas additions many years ago, and I still enjoy them. They are singing "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" to you...not really, but it looks like they could be singing, doesn't it?!
I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and have finally finished off the turkey! If you're like me, you're ready for the Christmas season...its my favorite time of year, next to summer, for many reasons...the first and most important is the celebration of our Lord's birth, then the get togethers with friends and family, the lights and decorations on houses and businesses...I love it all. I hope you do too. And this year, I am going to be able to visit all of your homes as well!
I do hope that all of us will not forget that this is the season for calm, thanksgiving, and reverence for Christ's birth. I hope everyone will say "Merry Christmas" when greeting someone, and reflect on the beauty of the season because we have a Savior that has given us something to be truly merry about...eternal life, the greatest gift of all.
I would love to show you a little of my Christmas decor for White Wednesday and Rednesday. This snow lady was a gift from my neighbor several years ago. She’s a favorite of mine…reminds me of ME!
A few decorations on the tree
This hand embroidered ornament was a gift from one of my tea club friends.
And now please visit Kathleen for White Wednesday, and Sue for Rednesday…they’re waiting for you!
Remember our military...please pray that our leaders will make sound decisions that will provide the best protection for our men and women while they serve away from home. Pray for their families during this Christmas season, that they may find peace and strength as they wait for their loved ones to return.
Stay healthy, and may God bless you all!
Mary
Mary dear! How wonderful to meet you! Thank you for coming to my blog post! You know what? My favorite picture is the child's drawing of the Holy Family is my favorite one too!!! I see that you love tea, decorating and JESUS! YEAH! I am a French teacher, so that is why my blog has a French flavor to it....Your blog is just beautiful! Happy, bright, hopeful...these are the kind of blogs and people I just love meeting. Thank you for your kind words, and please, please come again! I am living in Minnesota, but I am from California! I see you are in the Bay area. God bless! Anita
ReplyDeleteI love all your pics, the ornaments are my favorite. Your blog looks great, and I know just what you mean. In changing mine to a 3 column I lost a lot of widgets. As for your favorite blogs, if you "follow" each of them (add non blogger blogs link in your dashboard to blogs you follow) and then just put that widget on your blog, you won't have to enter them by hand. Now I may have misunderstood and that's what you're doing, if so, disregard that!! :) :)
ReplyDeleteMay He bless you and keep you,
Robin
Love the photos. I smiled when I read the snow"lady" reminds you of YOU! :-) Your tree is lovely! Thanks for sharing the pretties.
ReplyDeleteYes I just heard another one of our boys (military mom's prayer group) will be returning home (USA!) in time for Christmas. He is an Air Force guy, flies in and picks up Marines and others and gets them out. God is good.
I watched the President's address last nite. My Marine says it looks more and more like they will deploy to Afghanistan very early in 2010 rather than late Spring. Thanks for your prayers Mary. Anticipating a wonderful Christmastime with family. Hope for you also.
Glad to hear your daughter is well now. I like your Christmas ornaments they are so cute. Have a blessed Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteMy Rednesday
Mary, your ornaments are lovely! I bet your tree is gorgeous. And I love that snowwoman that your neighbor gave you. She's adorable!
ReplyDeleteYes, we must pray for our soldiers. We have lost several in our area lately, and they were so young. And definitely pray for the families of all soldiers. I don't think people realize how hard it is for the families, emotionally and financially.
Happy Rednesday,
Carol
Oh, Mary, your snow lady is just darling! Love her! Love all your little teacups too; your tree is very pretty. Thanks for sharing with us and have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Love the snow lady, but what really catches my eye are the cloisonne ornaments! They are gorgeous. And those tiny teacups? Charming!!!
ReplyDeleteCass
I love the carolers on your header! All of your ornaments & the snow lady are beautiful .

Mary, those little ornies are so sweet... the tea pots and cups! Oh, how I love them.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a good day...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Hi Mary! I do love your new blog header - those little gals are so cute! And I adore the red ribbons with black scallops, too!
ReplyDeleteYour ornaments are so festive, and ladylike - you need to show us the full tree!
What a gorgeous snowman. I love all the ornaments. What an awful widget problem, I hate it when that happens, the three column is tricky, I can explain it to ya like just go into my profile and send me an email. Sometimes when you do the three column if something is off just a hair it can mess up the whole blog, however all widgets get deleted when expanind the three column, I had to set up my own background codes, because when I would download them from the different site like cutest blog on the block or something similiar when that site deletes their images it ruins your background on your blog, I got tired of reduing and just did my own. I am not too computer savy, but let me know if ya need anything.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your daughter is attending school again, having a sick little one in the house is hard, then all tend to get sick eventually and then you are the last one sick lol; isn't that how it always goes.
Take care

Hi Mary, I love your new blog graphics and header. Very festive and sweet. I'm never quite sure what I'm doing when I'm changing mine around and have lost things too!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas Tree is so beautiful with all the tea ornaments. Do you have Raley's or Nob Hill grocery stores there? I saw some wonderful little inexpensive calendars at our Raley's and picked up several for friends. Some of them have very pretty tea graphics on them. If you missed them let me know and I'll send you one.
Hugs,
Dawn
It is nice to meet you. I love your snow lady! She really brings out a smile with her jaunty little hat and cute outfit. I really like all your tea cup ornaments, too. I have about 3 like that. Out tree isn't up yet. We will have to wait until the weekend when dh has a chance to get up into the attic and bring our stuff down. I am looking forward to decorating this year. Thanks for visiting my blog. I always appreciate comments. Enjoy the rest of your week and God bless.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Tricia

Hi Mary!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your Christmas blog page!! Love it...You did a great job, except for your widget problem, haha. I can't believe some of the things I have done on here. I stumble around and eventually it seems figure things out, but by the time I do, something else is new and I am left in the dust again. lol I LOVE LOVE LOVE your singing carolers. It's just the kind of "feel" I love. I have a feeling I would love to tour your home. The ornaments are soo pretty. The Snow lady is perfect!! What a good idea...I'm just about done over here. I am soo slow this year. I thought I'd finish today, but not yet. Had the grandkids all day today and it just doesn't go together, haha. I am glad your daughter is feeling better and is back at school. Looking forward to more pics of your pretty things.
Hugs and love to you,
Debbie
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteWe are glad dear daughter is feeling better.
love the tea decorations, Hannah loves tea cups and saucers, she thinks the decorations are so cool. I may have to add a bit of tea things to our tree this year and next. We try to get the girls a new ornimate each year, I'll be looking for tea cups.... Sarah loves monkeys, so we are doing jungle for her. I love this time of year! Hope that you have a blessed week.
Much Love and Prayers.
Lori and girls

Hi Mary, your blog looks good. Glad your daughter is better. You are most welcome to any thing on my sidebar. There is a blog Mrs Penniwig something where she ups graphics daily for folks to copy. If you look down my list of recommendations you will find her. I can't remember the name now. Blessings

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by Tea and Talk. I wanted to answer your question about Rooibos. It is not a real tea since it doesn't come from the Camellia sinensis plant, but from a Red Bush plant in Africa. It is becoming very popular because of its health benefits, and since it has no caffeine. You can drink it hot or cold, with or without milk and it comes in many flavors. It is widely available and found in most supermarkets. Well, that was probably more than you wanted to know - have a great day.
Maureen
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. I love your blog's new Christmas look. The header picture of the carolers is so pretty. And why am I not surprised to see little teacups and teapot on your beautiufl tree. They're so cute. :-) Love them.

♥Ana

You have such a pretty blog Mary! I am so loving those tea-cup ornaments and the Santa! Just charming! Glad to hear daughter is doing better, it's hard when their sick you worry so much. Cindy
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks so pretty, love the banner! Cute little snow lady! I'm only putting up one tree this year (last year I put up seven!) This year's tree will have my miniature tea things on it (same as last year!) We aren't expecting company so I'm not putting up a whole lot of decorations like I usually do. I'm just using my Nativity collection (and the tea room things.)
ReplyDeleteI hope you, and your daughter, are feeling better!
I used a few of my Nativity collection under cloches for the cloche party! Come see!
