Tea Things Tuesday at Tea

Its Tuesday, and time to join Kim for Tea Things Tuesday.  Kim has run out of tea things…can you imagine?…so today is our last get together…be sure to visit Kim and the other tea lovers and see what they’ve chosen to show you…I know you’ll love everything!  Just click on that little teacup to the right, and you’ll be there!

The Rose Petal Tea Society had their December tea on Saturday, and I’d like to share some photos with you.  It would have been great to have all of you there, too…this is a great group of ladies, and I know you would love them, and they would love you!

In case you don’t remember, the Rose Petal Tea Society is a tea club that we started over 5 years ago.  In the first year, we went to tea, or had a tea in a home, every other month.  By the second year, we had decided that we wanted to meet every month…we just couldn’t wait til the next tea!  There are about 18 of us, and we usually see at least 14 in attendance, so we have to find extra chairs, put tables together, etc., to fit us together, but we always have a fantastic couple of hours together.  Because this is our December tea, of course, it also became our Christmas tea, so we exchanged gifts…it was great fun…we were just like those little girls of years ago, waiting in anticipation to see what we got!

Do you see this gorgeous crocheted tablecloth?  If I could have fit it under my jacket, it would have been in my house today!  And the Christmas plates that are clear, but with an etched design were stunning…I only wish I could have captured the detail better…they were outstanding…and vintage… so we can’t just run out and buy them!

Is this teapot  beautiful, or what?  It isn’t actually a Christmas teapot, but the colors lend to the season perfectly, especially sitting alongside the Christmas cactus plants, just beginning to bloom…such a pretty sight!

Notice the little Christmas village on the sideboard behind the ladies, and the framed artwork on the wall…lovely vintage items in this beautiful home!  No, no, I don’t mean the girls….oh, my, no way!

Keep your grubby hands off my gift!

“Afternoon Tea”…a book full of new ideas and recipes…YUM!

This is a real teacup made into a pin cushion…adorable!

Our lovely hostesses, Kathy and Sheila…thank you for a wonderful tea!

I hope you enjoyed our tea party!  I’m sorry I didn’t show you last month’s tea…it was also beautiful, but my photos didn’t turn out, so I didn’t post them.  Maybe a new camera will be under my tree this year?

I also had a small tea on Friday for my Bible study friends…here a few photos of the table before they arrived.

Ever since I changed my blog background to the three column, my photos have been chopped off on the right side…any ideas on that?

I have been really much more busy than I want to be, and haven’t had time to answer emails, or visit your blogs, but I hope to be caught up enough to find an hour tonight to do so…I miss seeing everything you’re doing, or writing about…visiting my blogging friends refreshes me, and I am really missing that right now!  Just know that, even if I’m not leaving a comment, you’re in my thoughts and prayers!

God bless you all…have a wonderful day!

I've been neglecting a lot of blog visits too so I hope to make that up one of these evenings!

    Love to you,

  5. Dear Mary,, I so love tea parties and both these looked like tremendous fun. You have some really lovely tea things too. I'm so pleased that tablecloth couldn't fit under your jacket too, lol. So sad that this event has run its course, I shall miss it.

The floral pattern is simply georgous. Your bible study tea table is just as stunning and so festive. I sure wish I could have been in attendance at both of those tea parties. Thank you so much for joining me for Tea Things Tuesday over these past several months. It has been such a pleasure getting to know you through blogging as we seem to have so much in common with our love of tea. I sure am going to miss my Tea Things Tuesday event each week, but I'm not going anywhere and will still be blogging regulary and will be visiting you regularly as well. Take care and have a very Merry Christmas!! Kim

I love your table setting for your Bible Group Tea...just pack up one of each cup and mail them on here....;-)
Do hope you will take time to just sit and be...listen to the stillness of this wonderful Christmas Season!

  9. Mary, the tea parties sound like such fun! Everything looks so perfect and beautiful. And your home looks lovely for the Bible study ladies. It looks like such great times of fellowship.

    Hugs to you,

  10. Your photos of the teas are really lovely, there is some beautiful china and that tablecloth is gorgeous.

  11. Both tea parties looked wonderful. Your chintz cups are lovely. I have the Old Country Roses Ruby Anniversary mini teacups on my tea tree. The pearl garland looks lovely on the white cloth for that extra touch of femininity.

  12. Hi Mary, Yes I got a visit from one of your tea group. Your teas were lovely. Those dishes and linens are so beautiful. I too, have been busy and not much time to visit. I am surely enjoying all the outings and all the preparations for Christmas.

  13. Oh Mary I don't even know where to start, haha BOTH tea parties look soo pretty and so fun. I think your table was especially gorgeous however. I LOVE your dishes and your whole "feel" Just so very pretty. I LOVE your napkins and how you have them tied. I think I have either that exact tea cup (the greenish one) or one very much like it. Did you serve a whole luncheon or just "tea" dishes? At the first tea I too love that tablecloth. I have one too. In fact there is a store out here that used to carry them in a pretty big variety of either pure or off white and in different sizes. If you want I could get you one. I haven't been there in a couple of years, but I am pretty sure they are still there and have them. Just let me know and I would be most happy to check it out for you. Besides it is time for me to make another visit there. haha Anyway, can't tell you how I enjoyed this post. I KNOW I would have loved attending either one of those teas.

    Love and hugs,

  14. Oh Mary the pictures from your teas are so beautiful. I wish I lived closer so I could be a part of your little tea club. Everything looks so lovely.

  15. Hi Mary....What nice photos of your teas! They look like so much fun....I wish I could have been there! I really love your "December" china.....so pretty!~Hugs, Patti

  16. Your table looks beautiful. We thought very much the same but you have given me some more ideas.

  17. Good morning Mary!
Thank you for visiting my blog! Your kind words ring true for me; while celebrating the beauty of the season that we can see and participate in via our cultural traditions, I am trying to get the message across that there is something greater and more magnificent behind all of the beautiful glitter and "magic", and that is the power of the love of God....I can see that you know that...and thank you again for acknowledging my work as a blessing. What a gorgeous blog you have! TEA? My favorite beverage! This coming Saturday, I am posting a "Paris Tea". Please come! I am having a little (very little) give-away as well. Have a wonderful week, and the countdown is on for the night that we can all look up to the skies, look into each other's hearts and celebrate the eternal love of Jesus!!! YEAH! Blessings, Anita

I'm parituclarly fond of your transferware teapot that, as you put it, isn't Christmas but has the colors of the season. It's beautiful. I have a few plates in that coloring but have never been lucky enough to spy the teapot!
